Women of Faith

There is no way I could adequately recognize all of the important women in my life, or this blog would be too long. But I have had the godly influence of women in this church since I was 10 years old. I can look out each Sunday and see women who have helped show me Jesus through their love and service to me. I have a mother that has shown me what servanthood looks like my entire life. Now I have the example of my wife that gives her all for me, our family and this church constantly. Heather’s mom has opened her home to kids in the foster system for decades, teaching us about biblical hospitality… and I could go on.

Mother’s Day is a great chance to hit the “pause” button and really look at the women who shape our lives. Flowers and cards are a sweet gesture, but they can’t quite capture the weight of a woman’s influence, especially when she is helping build the spiritual foundation in her family and beyond.

Some women are raising kids, others are mentoring students, leading ministries, looking out for friends, and quietly holding things together through prayer. Faith usually isn’t passed down through big formal speeches, but passed down by the way we live our lives. Women whose lives are rooted in Christ leave a mark on people that lasts long after you’ve left the room.

It’s the small, ordinary moments in life that lead to something extraordinary:

• That quick prayer you whisper before the kids head out the door.
• Choosing to forgive when you have every right to be angry.
• Showing up to worship even when life feels heavy.
• The gentle way you steer a friend back to the truth of God’s Word.

In the moment, these things might feel tiny, but they aren’t. Each of these moments are seeds, and when you plant seeds of faith, they eventually grow into something beautiful.

A woman’s spiritual influence doesn’t always take center stage. Most of the real work happens in the messy, everyday spaces like the car, the kitchen, or in those quiet, tired moments when only God is watching. But it’s those unseen moments that tend to shape hearts the most.

To the women who feel a bit overlooked or just plain exhausted, your faithfulness is seen. God notices every act of love, every sacrifice, and every time you choose grace when it would be easier to walk away.

If you’re wondering if you’re making a difference, you can stop wondering. Even when you can’t see the results yet, and even when you feel like you’re failing, God is working through you.

And for the rest of us, let’s make a point to honor and celebrate the women in our lives. Their role in pointing people to Jesus is priceless.
