Meet Jonathon Barnes

Children’s Minister // jbarnes@nullmadisonchristian.org

Welcome to the Children’s Ministry page!  We’re so glad you’re checking us out.  If you have any questions that aren’t answered here, don’t hesitate to reach out to Jonathon.

Gospel

Our goal is to present the Gospel to your children in age-appropriate and understandable ways. We do that so they’ll have the opportunity to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior when they’re ready.

Fun

Something fun is always happening for the kids here at Madison! Our goal is to provide fun and creative ways for them to learn and interact with each other so they want to come back to church again and again.

Safety

We take the safety of your children very seriously. All of our volunteers are fully screened. We also require all children to be checked into our security system before they’re dropped off.

Loving Care

We’re committed to providing a safe environment where your children can experience God’s love and care through our staff and volunteers. Our heart is to help them discover the joy of who God is.

This Week’s Video Lesson

We post these preschool and elementary online resources for our families to be able to supplement what their children are learning at church, or to keep up with what we are doing at church each week.

They’re also a great resource in case families were unable to attend and would like to worship at home for the week.

Newborn – 5 Years Old

We have nurseries and classrooms available for your children. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our littlest ones to feel the love of God while they are here.

We offer one room for newborn-5 years old during the 9:00am service. and three age specific rooms during the 10:30am service.

  • Nursery
  • 2’s & 3’s
  • 4’s & 5’s

Kids’ Worship (1st – 6th Grade)

During the 10:30 service, the school-aged children attend praise and worship with their families in the main service. Then they’re dismissed to the Kids’ Cube for kids’ programming.

Here, they’ll participate in a unique blend of activities, a lesson, communion, and prayer that encourage young children to respond to God’s love and to grow closer to Him.

Information and Policies

If you have any questions, contact Jonathon Barnes at jbarnes@nullmadisonchristian.org.

One of our highest priorities at Madison is the nurturing protection of children. We strive to provide a safe, inviting environment where kids can come and learn about Jesus while their parents/guardians attend Adult programs with the peace of mind that their children are safe.

Kids’ Check In Desk

Because we want to protect your children and provide the very best care for them, all children newborn through 6th grade, must:

  • stop at the Kids’ Check In desk (pictured above) to be checked into our system,
  • be given an identification tag to wear (a matching tag will be given to parent/guardian to keep with them),
  • be dropped off and picked up in their nursery or classroom by a parent, guardian or the person with the correct identification tag. This tag must be given to the worker so they can match it the tag on the child.

For their protection, no child will be released to anyone that does not present the correct security tag without approval from Jonathon Barnes.

In fairness to everyone, please don’t check sick children into the rooms. If your child is experiencing any of the symptoms below, please keep them home until they’re well.

  • Fever
  • Red eyes with discharge
  • Vomiting
  • Skin rash

Labeling
We will supply tags for diaper bags and other necessary equipment. Please label all items brought into the nursery or classroom.

Feeding
We will do our best to feed your child their bottle at the time you indicate at check-in. We ask that you mix all bottle(s) before you bring your child to the Nursery. We do provide some small snacks unless told not to by the check-in person.

We invite families with a new baby to participate in a Baby Dedication. This a special time for parents to dedicate their child to God and themselves to the path of Christian parenting. Parents dedicate themselves to providing a Christ-centered home for their children.

Contact Jonathon Barnes if you’re interested. (jbarnes@nullmadisonchristian.org).
