Our family has had the opportunity to experience some of what makes Madison Christian Church so special. I would say that is the genuine expression of love from this body of believers to members of the body that are hurting.
I officiated at my mom’s funeral service on Saturday. March 13. It was a wonderful time to celebrate her life – and her eternal life with Jesus. Madison Christian Church people drove to Canton, Ohio in large numbers, participated in the calling hour, and when I looked out at the audience to begin the service I felt like I was in the Worship Center of Madison – the room was teeming with Madison people. The texts, cards, emails expressing sympathy and a sincere willingness to do anything for us have been, no exaggeration, non-stop. “Thank you” is completely inadequate at this time. I know I am biased (really biased), but for the life of me I cannot fathom why anyone would not want to be part of such a gracious, loving, supportive body of believers in Christ.
Sooner or later you will experience “The Madison Way” of caring for people. It will sustain your spirit and warm your heart.
Now – for the explanation of the photo above. My brother, Stan, has lived in his home on Lake Cable in Canton for quite a few years now. In the time that Stan, Chris, and their boys have lived in their house, they have never seen an eagle soaring above Lake Cable. One of the handwritten, “Favorite Scriptures” of my mom which I read Saturday was:
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew
their strength. They will soar on wings
like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.”
If you look closely at the photo above, you will see the eagle soaring above Stan’s home as they unloaded some of mom’s things following the service.
