Thank You Greeters

In Psalm 122:1 David says, “I rejoiced with those who said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord.'” There are many reasons why we rejoice at the opportunity to go to the house of the Lord, and one of the simplest is that you are warmly welcomed there. Chances are that someone will open the door for you, give you a welcoming smile, hand you a program, tell you that it is great to see you today, etc. If you are a guest, they will offer to help you get to where you and your children need to go. If you are a first-time guest, they will make sure that you get one of our “gift boxes.” Today I want to say “thank you” to our greeters. This is a very important responsibility. In Psalm 84:10b it says, “I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God dwell in the tents of the wicked.” We are very grateful for the doorkeepers we have at Madison Christian Church.
Shelly Graham is the mover and shaker on this ministry. She makes sure our doors are covered on Sunday morning with friendly faces. At my request, Shelly provided for me her current list of greeters. Our thanks go to: Julie Overmeyer, Bernie Craigo, Jeannie Lewis, Carla Steele, Camille Humphrey, Bernie Lewis, Janice Mueller, Donna Watson, Paula Kitsmiller, John Kitsmiller, Elaine Brisker, Joan Montgomery, Joyce Jauchius, Betty Davidson, Karen Seelenbinder, Bev Wonsick, Diana Holycross, Linda Corner, Donna Steinhauser, Kathy Chapman, Joy Habegger, Chuck Ventola, David Graham, Shelly Graham.
These people show up, week in, week out, and are very conscientious about their responsibility. (You never have enough greeters. Contact Shelly and she will give you an assignment.) Thank you so much to our greeters.
