Plymales to Kenya

Some people talk about how they will serve the Lord with their retirement years.  Those who follow through are some of the most valuable servants in the Lord’s Kingdom.  They bring time, experience, accumulated wisdom, and many skills to the table in serving the Lord.

Such people are Virgil and Carol Plymale.  They sold their home and possessions, took up residence in their RV, and have proceeded to dedicate themselves to doing whatever service the Lord brings to them.  It is hard for me to quantify the admiration I have for them and their service to the Lord.  They have traveled across our country serving the Lord, and they have traveled the world doing all types of mission work.

Virgil and Carol will be departing for Kenya on Saturday, January 23.  They will arrive in Kenya on Sunday evening, January 24 at 8:30.  They will return home at the end of June.  While in Kenya, they will be providing support for 12 missionary families serving in Kenya on behalf of Christian Missionary Fellowship.  The Plymales will be doing such things as payroll, purchasing, providing supplies, transportation, and other administrative dutiesPlease be praying for them as they undertake this task.

In 2006, Virgil and Carol were nominated for and were awarded the "Leaders in Christian Service Award," given by Milligan College and sponsored by Standard Publishing.   I was honored to be asked to write a letter of support regarding this award.  I cited their "character, work ethic, love for Christ, and devotion to missions."  I was happy to point out that they are willing to do any assignment and "have been a valuable asset to many churches and missions.  We appreciate them setting such a fine example.
