In Luke 19, Jesus sent two of his disciples ahead. He told them that in the village ahead of them they would find a colt tied there which had never been ridden. The disciples were to bring it to him to ride into Jerusalem at the Triumphal Entry on Palm Sunday. If the owner asked why they were taking the colt, they were to respond, “The Lord needs it.” Of course, it all happened exactly as Jesus said.
Tomorrow is Palm Sunday, and we could point out many things about that. For today, think about this: If Jesus knew that a donkey was waiting for him in the next town, he certainly knows what is down the road for you and me.
- We may not know how that medical test is going to turn out but Jesus does.
- We may not know whether or not there will be any decent jobs for you when you get done with your education but Jesus already has in mind how he plans to use your life and provide for you.
- We most certainly do not know how the current COVID – 19 pandemic is going to turn out and the totality of change that will take place in our lives, but Jesus does.
I want to urge you today to face the future with confidence and resolve. The most important reason that is possible is that Jesus is not limited by time, is already in the future, and has everything under control.
