We are have had a fabulous time packing meals that will go to starving people in Honduras through Lifeline Christian Mission. “Food Insecurity” is a major problem all over the world. In Central America, because of COVID and the devastation of six hurricanes in a row, the need for food is great. The Lord has blessed us to be able to respond to this need in a BIG way!
We are sending 112,000 meals (consisting of rice, beans, vitamins, and flavoring) on a container to Honduras. As you can see from the photos, this was a project for all ages. We are thrilled to be used by the Lord in this way.
The wonderful spirit of cooperation of our people was so evident in Sunday’s sessions. Those who joined us from Lifeline Christian Mission found the commitment of our people and their willingness to work hard to be amazing.
The Madison Christian Church Mission Committee were “early adopters” on this. I met with them in August, 2020, and they not only blessed the project, but seeded the fund with the initial $2,000. (The vision that I shared with the Mission Committee was so puny – I told them I hoped we could do 40,000 meals. That is a far cry from 112,000.) The rest of our funding ($28,000) came from our “Grateful Heart” end-of-year offering and the tremendous generosity of people. That was such an awesome offering. Madison Christian School has partnered with us to provide manpower to pack meals. We had a great set-up crew led by David Graham and the Madison Men’s Ministry that transformed the gym into a meal packing center. Shelly Graham and Donna Steinhauser were our point people during the packing and did a phenomenal job. Students from Madison Christian School’s Upper School are going to knock out the remaining meals during their Bible hour. This has been a total team effort.
Lives in Honduras will be saved. Those who receive meals and pack them are blessed. We all get to participate in meaningful service in Jesus name. We feel very blessed to be able to serve the Lord in this way. Thank you to all!!!
Ann and I were so blessed to be part of the “action “ today. We could feel the joy of our team mates when cheers went up as boxes were filled with meals.
Roger – It was wonderful that you and Ann could participate. I agree with you, and it was a real joy to see people get a hands on reminder that serving the Lord with other brothers and sisters in Christ is a real blast!
It was so much fun to work along with people from the church to bring food to people with food insecurity. It was such a great project because anyone can participate no matter age or disability. What a great way to demonstrate our love for others and set an example of service for children an adults everywhere.
