I know that many of you either subscribe to, or monitor carefully, the Miracle Gracie blog that is written by mostly Joy and sometimes David Barnes. I have long ago lost count of the number of you who have told me that the messages are well-written and a real blessing to you.
For any who may not be aware, Grace is our beautiful three-year-old granddaughter and is in treatment cycle number 5 out of 6 of chemo and stem cell transplant as she deals with brain cancer. She had extensive brain surgery before the treatments began. She is a good soldier. We are exceedingly proud of her. I want to share the most recent post from the blog here, and urge you to subscribe to the blog, www.miraclegracie.com so you can follow her progress closely. Your prayers are so valuable!!! Here is the post:
God is good. He is our healer
God is good. He promises by Jesus’ stripes we are healed.
Update: We’ve had a rough couple of days but have turned the corner. Gracie had a fever and infection (her immune system is so weak she catches infections easily). The nurses and bone marrow transplant team were on top of it and now we’re getting more giggles, smiles and play time. Counts are still 0 but this is pretty on course with the last round. Gracie’s been so strong. God is good!
Final thought: It’s so easy to be caught up in thinking about possible long-term effects and current deficits watching Grace every day. I’ve been reminded, God loves us as is. Each day is a gift and we are not promised tomorrow. I’m choosing gratitude for the day and even gratitude when I see the deficits. The Bible says Gods power is made perfect in our weaknesses. Have a great Wednesday!! Love you family/village!
2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
I pray for Gracie day and night, and ALL the rest of your family as well.
She is going to have a wonderful story to tell about God’s love. Hang in there, god’s love is ever lasting and he is so good. To God be the glory.
