Hope in the Lord

Time: 10:30 am
Location: Room 754
Facilitator: Tom Brisker

Description:
During Summer quarter 2024 (June 2nd-August 25th) we will explore the topic of “Hope in the Lord.”  Christian hope is based on nothing less than God’s promises and our confidence in His faithfulness to His promises. We will explore our Hope in the Lord in three areas… “Experiencing Hope,” “Expressing Hope,” and “Eternal Hope.”

  • Experiencing Hope considers hope as seen through the lens of those whose faith in Christ gave shape to the early church. Hope transformed lives, led to boldness in testimony, inspired the believers to see salvation, and gave encouragement to all.
  • Expressing Hope turns attention to prayers of ancient Israel. Lamentations describe fleeing hope until the people remember God’s faithfulness. Worship and praise follow. The Psalmist expresses hope in God’s intervention, graceful giving of the Law, and forgiveness. These hopes are fulfilled in Christ.
  • Eternal Hope consider facets of the promised future that God is preparing for those who call on the name of Jesus. In the study texts we see what hope looks like as we wait on Jesus to come again. Eternal hope will be realized when we see Jesus and our becoming like Him.

We will explore these areas of study as we engage in the 2024 Summer Quarter ABF Bible study. The class assembly time is 10:30 AM in Room 754.  Classes are always casual, interactive, and Bible centered. Everyone is welcome. Tom Brisker facilitates.
