Let’s Talk Apologetics

We would like to invite you to a conversation on apologetics that is scheduled for Tuesday, May 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the Library. We will have the opportunity to view cutting edge materials and to learn from one another regarding how we defend our Christian faith.

One of our members, Joe Watson, has taken the initiative to establish Madison as a “Stand to Reason Outpost.” He has done this through Stand to Reason ministries. www.str.org. I have been listening to their podcasts for years, and have read a number of books by the founder of Stand to Reason, Greg Koukl. We will have the privilege of using their materials in these sessions. The other two meetings that have been scheduled throughout the summer are June 13 and July 11.

Stand to Reason trains Christians to think more clearly about their faith and to make an even-handed, gracious defense for classical Christianity and classical Christian values in the public square. Their goal is to bring confidence to every Christian, clear thinking for every challenge, and courage and grace for every encounter.

Stand to Reason believes that skill in thinking is very important. They believe that ideas matter, and that persuasion using sound reasoning is an effective tool God uses to reach the lost. They also believe that ongoing education is an intrinsic good.

If these concepts resonate with you – and you wish to be better equipped to defend your faith – we hope to see you Tuesday, May 16 in the library.
