Excellent Cooperation!
One of the great things about Help Build Hope on Saturday (constructing the walls to two Habitat for Humanity Houses in our parking lot) was the terrific cooperation we had with the Athletic Department of Madison Christian School. We are so glad that our Madison Men’s Ministry leadership reaches out to the Athletic Department for this event. In the picture above, Head Baseball Coach Jason Hovance is working with members of the MCS Baseball Team on a wall section. Below is a photo taken by Head Soccer Coach Randall Gibson, whose team participated also. (We also had a volleyball player.) One of these houses went to southeastern Ohio, and the other went directly to Dawson Springs, Kentucky to be part of a major rebuilding effort from an EF 4 tornado followed by floods. It was great to involve these young people in a project that will change the lives of people.
These students had a great attitude, worked hard, were a pleasure to be with, and certainly were a credit to Madison Christian School. We think they had a pretty good time doing it.
In the spirit of cooperation, I would like to extend to you the Athletic Department’s invitation to the 10th Annual Marion and Ruth Gray Cross Country Invitational this Saturday. Here is the announcement from Wendy Souzis:
You are invited to attend the 10th Annual Marion & Ruth Gray XC Invitational to be held on Saturday, Sept. 24th. This will be a great event on our beautiful campus, with 14 total schools in attendance and 4 different races taking place, beginning at 9:00 AM. A parking fee of $6 per car will be charged and T-shirts will be available to purchase for $15, with a portion of the proceeds going to 2nd Chance Ministries. One of the groups this ministry supports is the homeless, many of whom are veterans. To purchase a parking pass (digital only), go to https://tinyurl.com/4hmawaup/ .
It’s great to work together!
