In our worship service on Palm Sunday, Roger Tedrow gave an excellent communion meditation. As part of his meditation, Roger shared the words of a poem. As Roger brought these words, I immediately realized he was doing more than just reading a poem. These words came from Roger’s heart, and from his pen. Please allow these thoughts to guide you in this Easter week:
“God’s Perfect Gift of Love”
From heaven He came for the weak and the lame
For sinners like you and I.
He left His throne to come for His own
Knowing He had to die.
He walked among men and again and again
He showed us how to live.
He taught us well about heaven and hell
To be gracious and forgive.
He spoke not a word to false charges absurd
He went to Golgatha and died
My folly and sin is what did Him in
For me He was crucified.
Then He rose again from death’s dark den
And He sits with the Father above
He’s the Truth and the Way, He’ll return one day
God’s Glorious Gift of Love.
