Family Time

Submitted by Paul Barnes on February 4, 2010 - 8:17am.

I'm pretty thankful that this is the fifth winter that Diane's mom and dad have made their residence beautiful Fort Myers, Florida.  That gives us a ready-made excuse to have to travel there to visit them sometime during their stay.  It's just one of those things I cannot believe we would do if they had not decided to spend October - May in the Sunshine State.  We have toughed it out and managed to visit them each of the years they have been there.  Until I went the first time, I never could quite understand why people went to Florida in the winter time.  Now I understand.  Warm climate, beautiful place, and the chance to wear shorts in February is a blast.

What makes the time very special this go around is that all of our kids will be coming to Fort Myers, also.  We so much look forward to not only seeing Diane's parents, but spending a week with David, Joy, Jonathon, and our grandson, Nehemiah.  Now that our family lives in Groveport, Toledo, and Louisville, Kentucky, combined with the fact that all of us are super-busy people makes the times to be together as a family less-frequent and greatly appreciated.

See you at the Valentine Dinner and in worship on Sunday, February 14!
