In 1980, Diane and I were happy to be able to announce that we were expecting. Our son, David, was born in June of 1981. It was a wonderful joy to have him, and he was a delight to the entire family. In 1984, I called my parents and asked, "Do you enjoy being grandparents?" "Of course!" was their reply. I said, "How would you like to double your pleasure?" Jonathon was born in April of 1985.
Time has marched on, and now we are the one's on the receiving end of family news. Diane and I have a wonderful grandson, Nehemiah. He is a beautiful boy, full of life, and a great source of joy to us. David and Joy are going to allow us to double our pleasure. Another grandchild is on the way, with a projected due date of December 28! (December 28 is my dad's birthday, so I am secretly rooting for that date so that a new little generation of Barnes can take his place.) We will gladly take her/him ANYTIME!
As you can imagine, we are thrilled with this development. We are praying that the child is developing perfectly - and all indications are that is exactly the case. Nana and I are looking forward to being grandparents again.
